Stevie Nic's

MK4

"Steven didn't want to be just another beautiful face with a beautiful car."

"he car speaks for itself aesthetically."

02.

"Mixture of R line and Anniversary bits."

Steven Nicols turned up at BassMechanix with a car already worthy of a concourse spot at any show it turned up at. What with it's custom New York Taxi yellow respray, BBS RS2 two piece rims, body kit consisting of a mixture of R Line and Anniversary bits and full Audi S3 interior retrim combined with the AirLift Slam Series XL Setup, this car is so pretty that Steven has a hard choice when asked to pick between his girl and his car (jokes boooooooooo! We know you love the car more ;) )
The VAG scene gets a bit of grief from the purists, but the work that had already gone into this car prior to being left with us is enough to silence the haters. On top of what has already been mentioned, Steven's MKIV also boasts an uprated turbo, front mounted intercooler, Beetle short ratio box and TT steering rack and hubs. This car can do 180bhp with a good amount of torque and still keep an economy of 65mpg when Steven behaves himself.

Subtle as a sledgehammer.

P retty impressive, but not perfect.....because Steven didn't want to be just another beautiful face with a beautiful car, and that's where this story's path collides with our own. The only way that this car could be made perfect was to rip out the 14 year old factory sound system and allow Maximus to make BOOM! There is nothing more satisfying than when you have a car that is as subtle as a sledgehammer for looks that can also turn heads before it has even crossed the eye. You know, those double take moments that happen every now and again?

Steven wanted a nice simple design for the install, the car speaks for itself aesthetically and performance wise so a crazy looking install would have been too much. We just kept this all about the sound and a sleek and slender boot setup.

04.

"Drumroll please..."

Out came the factory headunit and in went a JVC double din unit with bluetooth streaming (because cables are for Metros and Metros smell of wee) All of the factory speakers went in the bin and we gave it a full Rockford Fosgate upgrade. Drumroll please.....
up front we put Rockford Fosgate P16-s component kit in the front doors and sound deadened it because fuck rattles, Rockford Fosgate P165s coaxials in the rear doors and a single 10" Rockford Fosgate P2 subwoofer with a 4 channel Rockford R250x4 amplifier to give this solid setup it's heartbeat. Coupled with that we also mounted his AirLift reservoir to include it in the install and what you see in these photos is the embodiment of a vision created by both car owner and crazy man in turban.

Welcome brother!

Coupled with that we also mounted his AirLift reservoir to include it in the install and what you see in these photos is the embodiment of a vision created by both car owner and crazy man in turban.

The system sounds crisp and looks the bollocks, we are proud to have such a great example of a MKIV in the team and a character like Steven in our family.
